improving the nymphing & lure experience
2004 - 05: Reacting to our negative experiences putting weight on and off line while nymphing, start experimenting with different tips and wedges on bigger pliers.
2006: Having perfected the angle and thickness of the pick tip, we encorporate our popular 3-click style handle and lock onto the tips and produce 6" version
2007: 8.5" version with pick tip is produced.
2008: Shop demand for 8.5" with flat tip leads us to modify production and drop flat tip from larger model
2009: Internal Spring replaces external one, width of pliers arms on both sizes increased 12%
2010: Flat section in top 3 mm of pliers tips introduced on Work 6" to make it easier to de-bard #20 and smaller flies

The Release
Our lippa4Life takes care of controlling the fish, and for anglers like Riley, the work 6" pliers solve the problem of controlling the hook. We always advocate clamping down on the shank of the hook and pushing the bend towards the sky. Gravity and a de-barbed hook do the rest and the fish falls off the hook.

Our solution for nymphing & using lures
Kind of funny that these pliers perform well for anglers on each end of the spectrum - tailwater nymph fly flingers, and warm water lure chuckers - but they do. It's the magnetic pick tip that endears these pliers to both camps. The tip easily pries open every type of weight a fly angler could apply to their line, compliments of the custom angle we grind into them. Same pick works wonders for opening split rings when changing hooks on lures, say from nasty treble hook to more fish friendly single hook.
