Pro Staff Shout Out:

K8 Taylor

Pro Since: July 2008

We met K8 when she was working at H&H Anglers in WA. Since that time she has moved on to guide in AK and MX, while still giving herself enough time to chase Steelhead in the Pacific Northwest. Throughout all her adventures, the Ultralight pliers are with her. These are her favorite. Great person, incredible angler, and the perfect choice to grace the packaging of the Ultralights.

Product History

Design Evolution of Ultralight

improving the release experience

2005: First pliers to use 3-Click lock

2007:Removed mi co-cutter in tip to allow for tighter taper and smaller tipdemo

2008: Internal Spring replaces external lever spring.

Proper Use

The Release

Our lippa4Life takes care of controlling the fish, and for anglers like K8, the Ultralight pliers solve the problem of controlling the hook - because of the light weight, balance, and length. We always advocate clamping down on the shank of the hook and pushing the bend towards the sky. Gravity and a de-barbed hook do the rest and the fish falls off the hook.

Ultralight Pliers

Our lightest internal spring pliers

These are made for the minimalist, the angler who only brings the essentials to the river. Not surprisingly, they are very popular for Steel headers. Seems those of us who accept the long days and countless casts for the elusive Silver appreciate low weight, crimping strength, and sharp, sharp serrated scissors.

Not really into holding trout, but was playing with our underwater camera and only touched it underwater, so made exception.
